Our public talk series wrapped up for 2020 with Gareth Boyt joining us on the 19 November at the Oamaru Library. 'Ki Uta Ki Tai - Everything is connected' looked at our unique species and their connection to the Geopark, interactions within ecosystems, traditional ecological knowledge and how understanding the past will help us to deal with the future! Gareth recently joined the Waitaki District Council team as Biodiversity Advisor. He has a background in conservation, ecosystem monitoring and education with the Whare Wānanga framework and a passion for sustainable land management and healthy ecosystems.
