The 21-year-old taekwondo ace was filmed doing a backflip and kicking and breaking several boards at the height of four metres. "I have been doing Taekwondo for 16 years since I was five years old. Four-metre-high kicks are the main performance of a Taekwondo competition," said Wonjin Kim. "I used to train four hours a day on a regular basis but haven't trained for months due to COVID-19 this year. I hope COVID-19 ends soon and we train all together again," he added. Taekwondo originated in the 1940s in Korea and is identified by kicks about the waist height. Jumping spinning kicks, head-hight kicks and fast kicking techniques distinguish it from other martial arts. The previous record for the highest Taekwondo kick was reportedly held by Pascal Gentil from France, who kicked over 2.60 meters (8.6 feet) in 2005.
