Annex (Virtual): Classical Indian Dance Performance

Well known Indian classical dancer, Sreyashi Dey, founder of Akshara/Rasa Festival in Ann Arbor, presents a richly curated program consisting of three performances in the Odissi style (an ancient Indian classical dance form). The performances cover a range of solo to ensemble, and diverse in themes. Indian classical dance uses expressive facial expressions, elaborate hand gestures, and body and feet movements to narrate stories from the Hindu mythology as well as more contemporary contexts.
