The Birth of an Art Batt - by Classy Squid Fiber Co.
At 4x normal speed, watch the creation of a multi-layered landscape mega-batt! Art batts can be terribly difficult to photograph, because layer after layer of color and texture is held within, but only the top surface can be seen in a still picture. So, I thought I'd take you behind the scenes to see all that goes into one of these multi-faceted creations.
Inspiration: Patricia McKillip's "Ombria in Shadow", the "Upside Down" of Stranger Things, the idea that another magical world runs parallel to ours, just beneath the surface.
Fibers: Organic Polwarth, Falkland, BFL, Romeldale locks, ginned cotton, firestar, mulberry silk, angelina, silk noil.
Music: "I saw a ghost" by Wintermitts, via freemusicarchive.org, Creative Commons license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/
