@BM16204 years ago That came out pretty nice, only thing i would have done different is to glue the little strips of walnut vertical at varying lengths to look like an eq. 24

@ifiwooddesigns4 years ago Inspiring as always. Just a simple tip, use a reciprocating saw without the blade on the form after pouring concrete to rid of all the bubbles. Works perfect every time. 3

@jonathanbullman70584 years ago For halloween this year i found these cheap plastic halloween skulls that were hollow. I cut a hole and filled them with portland cement. They came out great. No i' ve got some skull door stops for halloween lol. 17

@grahamb79474 years ago Could have added some foam or sponge to the inside of the speaker holes to help dampen reverb from having an industrial sound effect.

@keithusace43524 years ago Pam spray cooking oil from the kitchen is a good releasing agent on small craft projects. 2

@TheScaryName4 years ago You are a true inspiration!
even though some of the things you use in your projects can' t be bought here in sweden, i really appreciate your please keep it up, and well done!
one note though: instead of poking through that foam, you could have just poured some acetone on it as it will melt styrofoam

@RyanNiemer4 years ago I dig it. The wooden middle piece looks great and covers up the crack perfectly. Nicely done. 1
  • @
@IceMonkey824 years ago Take a jig saw or reciprocating saw and remove the blade then place the base against the form and pull the trigger. This will give you better vibration for working the air bubbles up. 3

@kathybirkett79864 years ago Nice! When i was in the music industry, the studio where i worked redesigned my editing suite. They poured cement speaker stands that acoustically isolated too bad about the crack, but an amazing design. ...Expand 2

@jonathanbullman70584 years ago If you' re using a fast setting cement add a little sugar a d it slows down how quickly the cement sets. Also use ice water instead of just cold water. Both will help lengthen set times. 4

@wizmanballin84984 years ago Neat fun project, but a few holes in the back of the concrete would help for pushing more bass from the speakers. Neat job! 1

  • @
@upperhandcustoms114 years ago It wasnt the imperfections that made it not come out. It was drawing a vacuum below the fittings due to the tight tolerances created. If you drilled a small hole at the bottom of it probably would have come out easily. 1

@RickofEarthTV4 years ago I really enjoyed this, what an awesome project! Knowing my ocd i would not have been able to go forward with the crack, i would have had to redo it.

@Michele-ue5eu4 years ago Ehy, i really enjoy your videos, i have been following you for years now i find you carismatic and your videos always make me want to build something myself every once in a while you come up with some sort audio project, the thing is more often than not i look at your projects and think " there is no way this sounds fine" audio design is very hard both to understand and build and i would be lying if came here to say i am an expert, but i think you are skilled enough to put a little more care in your audio projects, there are plenty of designs out there to build a good sounding box without having to pull out the calculator and doing any math.
please don' t take this as a negative comment, because that' s the last thing i intended it to be, the point is this took you quite a bit of time to build this box and the results is probably disappointing audio wise, i think it makes a little more sense looking for a pre-made design with part and everything and go wild with the cosmetic aspect of it.
love your videos, i hope this comment is well recived

@Soundbrigade3 years ago Nice build, but have you treated the concrete surface or did i miss that? I am adviced to use soluble glass, but first sand all surfaces to remove id="hidden23" from the concrete and that is said to float to the top or to the surface. ...Expand
