In the Library of Graphic Literature 148-EISNER AWARDS FIELD TRIP Edition

Library of Graphic Literature St. John's, NL July 25th., 2020 The sunny was out in all it's glory and so I made my way down to the oldest business street in North America, Water Street to read out the 2020 Eisner Award Winners and peruse three new books! This summer, the street has been turned into a pedestrian Mall due in part to a petition I started a couple of months ago. THIS WEEK...I bring you three cool books to go along with the reading of the Eisner Awards!!! First, from Titan Comics comes Michael Moorcock's “the Chronicles of Corum: the Bull and the Spear” by Mark Shainblum and Jill Thompson!!! Love this series!!! A MUST read!!! Next, we have volume 1 of First Second's “the Golden Age” by Moreil & Pedrosa!!! A wonderfully coloured book which I can't wait to get my eyeballs over it. AND we end the show with Tom Scioli's “Jack Kirby: the Epic Life of the King of Comics” from Ten Speed Press. Anything having to do with the King is worth having and this little gem is no exception!!! MEANWHILE, of course, check out this week's episode of the “Thursday Comics” podcast on SPOTIFY and iTunes as we go weekly.
