Spinoff album of dot-line-surface series: ‘Produced by [ ] Part 1’ The most influential and recognized K-pop producers expand OnlyOneOf’s musical spectrum. The album ‘Produced by [ ]’ is a critical milestone for OnlyOneOf that represents OnlyOneOf’s artistic identity of ‘sticking to its core’ through collaborating with a group of the most respected producers. The title track ‘angel’ is a crossover of EDM beats and Hiphop. GRAY, the representing producer of AOMG produced the track for OnlyOneOf, produced the entire track from the scratch, identified by its easy listening melody line and trendy beats with complete packaging. The track ‘angel’ is an extension of the previously released tracks ‘savanna’ and ‘sage’ that represents ‘good and evil series’ of OnlyOneOf’s musical theme. The track describes ‘angel’ as an inaccessible object that represents dual-sidedness of good and evil, visually expressed from the music video, directed by Woojae Kim of ETUI. BOYCOLD, who is known as a producer of Sik-K, BewhY, HAON from the scene, produced the track ‘designer’ that extends the theme of previous tracks ‘picoassO’ and ‘dOra maar’, embodied OnlyOneOf’s signature genre of music ‘art pop.’ The track bluntly refuses to follow the conventional musical progression of Idol K-pop, while casts more focus to musical completeness, which is strictly in line with OnlyOneOf’s long-term pursuit of works. The track ‘Heartbreak Theatre’ is produced by Cha Cha Malone. The track is ironically probably the most Korean soul bearing and mass-adopted track from this album. The track production was initiated by the curiosity of “What kind of output can we expect if we produce a track that bears the most Korean soul into it with the most Hip-Hop originated and Western flavored producer?.” The track ‘Heartbreak Theatre’ is also an extension of previously released track ‘Heartbreak Terminal’ that expresses melancholiness of romantic relationships. All tracks of OnlyOneOf are intertwined to each-others, so that their series of works provide unique user experiences to its listeners. AOMG의 대표 프로듀서 GRAY가 온리원오브를 위해 프로듀싱한 곡으로 GRAY 특유의 듣기 쉬운 멜로디 라인에 트렌디함이 어우러져완성도와 함께 이지리스닝을 한꺼번에 사로잡는다. 그리고 ‘angel’은 데뷔곡 ‘savanna’와 ‘sage/구원’을 잇는 선과 악 시리즈의 곡으로 angel은 나에게 천사이지만 한 편으로는 다가갈 수 없는 이상의 존재라 노래한다. ETUI 김우제 감독이 만든 ‘angel’ 뮤직비디오 또한 앞에서 보면 선일 수 있지만 뒤를 돌아보면 악일 수 있는 양면성에 대해 완성하였다. Sik-K, BewhY, HAON 등의 프로듀서 BOYCOLD가 만든 ‘designer’는 ‘picassO’와 ‘dOra maar’의 확장판으로서 온리원오브의 시그니처인 art pop을 구현했다. 아이돌적인 음악의 문법에 구애받지 않고 예술적인 소재들과 음악성에 집중해왔던 온리원오브만의 음악은 ‘designer’를 통해 장르가 되고 더욱 심화되어 간다. Cha Cha Malone의 프로듀싱으로 완성된 ‘너-거짓말-나(Heartbreak Theatre)’는 이번 앨범에서 가장 대중적이고도 한국적인 정서를 갖고 있는 트랙이다. 가장 힙합적이고도 미국적인 정서를 갖고 있는 프로듀서에게 가장 한국적인 음악을 요청해보면 어떨까 라는 아이디어에서 시작된 이 곡은 전작 ‘너-정류장-나(Heartbreak Terminal)’처럼 어리지만 아린마음도 있는 사랑의 애틋한 감정을 그렸다. 온리원오브는 모든 곡들이 점으로 구성되어 다른 곡들을 향해 선으로 연결된다. 곡과 곡들이 서로 연결되는 재미는 Produced by [ ] Part 1로 더욱 튼튼해지고, 그리하여 온리원오브만의 구조적 세계관은 if surface m으로 나아간다.
