Sakura Path | ELMU

A peaceful work about walking down a path lined by cherry trees in blossom. The pedal note in the first section makes each chord sound conclusive, like a step, but also representing each petal dying as it falls. A gust of wind blows, and suddenly a whole flurry of sakura petals come down, and the two-note steps become a dance. But then the path comes to an end, and the cherry trees are left behind. Written for the birthday of someone who shares the same name as this beautiful spring blossom.
