The culinary rituals around the festival are also indicators of seasonality. Main ingredients are wheat flour, ghee, jaggery, chana dal. Can be served Hot or cold.
Ingredients:
spilt bengal gram (chana dal) 1 cup
jaggery 1 cup
wheat flour 1 cup
water 2 cups
jaiphal powder half tsp
cardamon powder one tsp
turmeric powder half tsp
ghee 3 tbsp
Method:
Soak chana dal for at least two hours.
In a mixer grinder put the chana dal, grated jaggery, and pour water as required and make fine paste.
In a mixing bowl pour the blended mixture, add to it gradually wheat flour and water and make thick better and add jaiphal, cardamon powder, turmeric powder.
In pan when heated, add half tsp of ghee and pour the better cover and cook three minutes. Then flip it and again cover and cook two minutes.
Now flip and cook both side by pressing the edges.
Instant Puranpoli is ready to serve.
Note:
Use proper measurements as given above.
Do not spread the better like dosa on pan, pour it on pan allow it cook by putting lid.
