@nickhayes16264 years agoI actually liked Solo. It’s my favorite of the Disney era Star Wars movies and I thought it was fun. I hoped against hope for a sequel of some kind, but knew it was unlikely. However, hearing it’s officially done does make me kind of sad. That being said I 100% agree that Kathleen Kennedy & Rian Johnson are garbage and need to be as far away for LucasFilm and Star Wars as possible. I heard that a Willow remake was supposedly happening and I cringe to think of what that would be. ...10

They gave him the job writing Indiana Jones V, and the pilot for a Willow sequel for Disney plus, on the heels of a flop like Solo which he wrote. All because Larry is Lucasfilm royalty because he wrote Raiders and Empire, and is Kathy Kennedy's friend, and the kid his son. ...

@KDog-rj9dt4 years agoAfter the Last Jedi and when fans gave criticism not attacks, it's not attacking when you give someone criticism but because the fans did criticize them then the fans were attacked and told that the new Star Wars wasn't for us so I never went back to give it a chance and I haven't watched the new Star Wars since then. To me these new Star Wars movie don't deserve my money until they start to respect of fans again ...1

@MandalorV74 years agoLike Jeremy, I didn’t see Solo till it had been out for a while. I did end up enjoying it. The story was a coming of age story for Han. Basically putting him in a similar spot Luke was in A New Hope. It was cliché that Han got his heart broken by his first love. Though I felt more attached to the characters introduced in Solo than in the new trilogy. The way they were setting things up we probably would have seen Han more inline with his original trilogy self in the sequel. ...1

For Star Wars of course Disney have chosen a character from one of their films but it's Jynn Erso from Rogue One instead of someone from their flagship trilogy. Mary Sue Palpatine may be all powerful on screen but Disney doesn't think she can sell their streaming. ...

I’ll never watch TLJ or TROS again. I walked out of the theater after attempting to watch TLJ for a 2nd time, and TROS is a complete mess. I actually wouldn’t mind a spin-off series for Solo with Ray Park and Sam Witwer portraying Maul. Could be really cool. ...2

For anyone wondering, my personal Star Wars canon is the first two trilogies, Clone Wars, Rebels with a slight tweak to the ending, Rogue One, Mandalorian, Ahsoka's entire story arc as of the time of this post, and Legends with the fat trimmed (meaning the really stupid parts of Legends are left out). Anything in the new canon that happens before Phantom Menace doesn't happen in my mind, and the comics are decent side stories for the most part, but nothing I can't live without. Though Vader bleeding his crystal and how he found out Luke's name can stay because they are awesome. Nearly forgot about Mandalorian when listing, but I'm not scrubbing Baby Yoda from canon. Only post-ROTJ thing under Disney that I'll accept thus far. ...

I thought the movie was okay, not particularly great but it was fun to watch and felt like one of Disney’s direct to dvd sequels which would’ve made a better series than a movie. I saw it over all the other movies playing at the time it was in theaters and I don’t regret that ...
