Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce holds a news conference in Thornhill to announce new curriculum changes for the upcoming school year. He also discusses the tentative agreement recently reached with the secondary school teachers’ union to continue negotiating and avoid a strike, pending a vote by union members.
Lecce is joined by his parliamentary assistant Patrice Barnes, as well as Laura Smith (MPP for Thornhill), Patricia DeGuire (chief commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission), Jennifer Holmes Weier (president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Central Ontario), and Ron Lynn (board chair of the York Region District School Board).
